We Interrupt This Program. . . .

. . . . to inform you there will be a disruption of outfit posts for a short while. Ha, as if there hasn't been an inconsistent lack of them already. But seriously though, my camera's busted. Yeah, I know, what's a fashion blogger to do?? Mike accidentally ran it over on his motorcycle and it's all smashed up. Luckily, I was able to send it to Canon's service center and they'll hopefully be able to put a new body on it, if not- well them I'm screwed. No, if they can't fix it I'll just have to buy another one- and not let Mike touch it. He already broke a really nice lens I had as well. Someone's using a plastic camera from now on. Or a disposable one.

We had an awesome weekend though. Actually, it was the weekend before this previous one. We went to a weekend campout/ride hosted by our friends' local mc shop; let me tell ya, it was one of the most fun weekends I've had in a long time. Lots of bike shops, friends, killer food, etc. It was hot as hell though; I swear I sweated off at least 5 lbs. So worth it though! And on Saturday we had a great ride, then stopped by a lake and everyone cooled off, then hopped back on the bikes and rode to a restaurant/bar, then back to the campsite for another night of debauchery. So much fun! Wish I could've had pictures, but well, see the above for why I don't.

In about two weeks we have another mc event to go to, which I'm super stoked about. This last one I literally didn't  pack until last minute, so I ended up in cutoffs and a tank the whole weekend. But, if I had more time I would've thrown together some better outfits. I mean, you wanna look cool on the motorcycle, right? Haha, doesn't really matter. But if I could, I would have put together something like below:

Untitled #21

Untitled #22

Miss Selfridge corset bra top / Genuine leather jacket, $3,235 / Balmain low rise pants / Fiorentini + Baker black chunky heels / Punk jewelry / Nelly Accessories ankle bracelet, $23 / Friis & Company plastic ring, $9.23 / Spiked choker necklace / Sunglasses / NARS Cosmetics nail polish

We now return you to your regularly scheduled program.

Live to Dye

Untitled #17

Untitled #19

I am completely obsessed with anything dyed lately. Tie dyed, ombre, dip dyed, it's all good. As a result, I've been pulling out anything in my closet that could use a makeover, and simultaneously making over clothing for my store as well. I'm not a patient person, so everything's kind of been an experiment, but that's the fun part, right- never knowing how it's going to turn out? Much like my hair, which unfortunately is fading fast.

It looks like Spring has officially arrived. After a random two days of rain and thunder, the weather channel reports that it'll hit 90 by Friday. Terrific. Anything above 80 and I turn into a sweltering blob of laziness. Very attractive.

Stop and Smell the Roses

vintage skirtvintage skirt
Isn't this vintage skirt gorgeous? I love the bold vibrant colors! It's not actually a fishtail skirt- after putting it on I realized it didn't look quite right; a simple tuck of the front into my belt made a huge difference. I love vintage more and more each time I find something great. There's just something about finding that awesome vintage piece that isn't like shopping off the racks at a department store or elsewhere. Perhaps because it often takes quite a bit of digging through old musty stuff, that when you find a treasure it's like a reward for all your hard work. Or something like that. If you follow me on Twitter (hint,  hint) then you likely saw my other recent finds- a metallic silver snakeprint kimono and an amaaazing crochet fishnet dress. So excited to show them to you later on! In fact, I've acquired quite a bit of cool vintage stuff to stock my store with- now all I've got to do is get my store off the ground. But that's another story.

Crazy Prints

If there's one thing everyone should be able to figure out about me now, it's that I love prints. Crazy, colorful bold prints, as well as animal prints (leopard and snake). Not only do I love prints, but I love to mix them as well. Not entirely sure how I feel about today's outfit, other than I love the bright colors and of course the leopard print. It was one of those days where I'm lacking inspiration, thus I threw on whatever was closest.

on my body: shirt and pants thrifted

Looking Back 2011

I'm back after an extended Christmas break...although not entirely optional. I had an awesome Christmas full of food and fun, but as luck would have it, my son Austin was just getting over being sick and come Christmas morning little Lia came down with it as well. And of course, after over a week of two kids coughing and sneezing all over me, it was inevitable that I would get it as well. Woke up feeling like someone had taken a cheese grater to the back of my throat, not a good feeling. Enter Theraflu and lots of oj and home made soup, my go to sickness weapons.

Pumped Up Kicks

vintage Pendleton blazer

Sorry for taking so long to post (as usual), just been so busy lately (as usual). In fact I still don't have my Christmas shopping done yet. Apparently, I'm playing the wait-until-the-very-last-minute so I can be part of the oh-crap-Christmas-is-tomorrow shopping frenzy. Every year I make a determination to start shopping months ahead of time...and every month I'm still shopping on Christmas Eve. Some things never change.
