It's Not Easy To Say Goodbye

So here are the Jeffrey Campbell leopard print wedges I mentioned in another post. I bought a size 7, which normally might be a little big for me, since dressier shoes other than flats or sneakers tend to run bigger on me. Not the case here. It fits very snug on the toes, and if I didn't know any better I would have guessed they were a 6. Still, I love them in all their toe squeezing glory. Who needs to wiggle their toes anyways? I also received in the mail a gorgeous, silk vintage kimono jacket which I am excited to wear, only it's too hot to do so yet. I am very impatient for Fall right now, anxious to pull out my sweaters, tights and jackets. Also I think it will be easier for me to dress...having a pretty difficult time fitting into things right now, which is very frustrating.

On my fall wish list:

1. a leopard print (of course) fur jacket- several from Topshop come to mind, as well as a couple vintage ones I've spotted.

2. knit hats- the perfect excuse to not bother with my hair

3. oversize sweaters, tops, ponchos, cardigans, for obvious reasons

4. the perfect pair of fall boots, whether they are knee high, booties, etc.

5. velvet something- wanted a velvet kimono, but they've been all sold out- would settle for a dress though.

6. maroon tights- also looking for teal

Well, you get the picture, I could go on for awhile. What's on your fall list?

ps. Will pick a winner for the giveaway tomorrow! Good luck to everyone and thanks for entering! Also waiting to find out who won Chictopia's Jeffrey Campbell "My Way" contest- wish me luck!

Also, be sure to check out my new weekly feature I'm adding to the blog, called "Get It For Less"

Get It For Less

(Bear with me, there's some reading before the pics, but it gets good, I promise)

Hope everyone had a great weekend; I myself had a pretty good one, however yesterday I went overboard cleaning my house like a fanatic and am therefore suffering the consequences with a sore back, legs, feet, hands, and every muscle in my body is screaming at me. So today I'm recuperating in pajamas and won't be doing an outfit post today; however I'm not going to leave you empty handed. I'm excited to introduce a new feature of my blog, called- you guessed it- Get It For Less. Now I know the name is not the most creative nor original, but I wanted something straightforward and easy to remember (and I'm seriously sleep deprived, so humor me). Now, I'm guessing by the title that you have probably already figured out what the feature is about? That's right, each week (not sure which day yet) I will be presenting you with an item, trend, outfit, etc, and showing you where you can find identical or similar items for less. Simple enough, right? Well let's get this started with one of this season's hottest trends:

CLOGS

Once the somewhat nerdy foot attire of gnomes and gardeners alike, this shoe ware has been embraced and transformed by companies and designers and is a must have on your Fall shoe list.

If you got the moolah to spend and you wouldn't blink in eye at dropping this kind of dough, then check out these lovely finds:

For those not shy about dropping $100 or more, here are some options:

For shoes in the $50-$100 range, check out these:

And finally, for the savvy saver, here's options for less than $50:

This just goes to show you that you don't always have to spend a fortune to look good. Although on occasion I do buy things that might be a little pricey, I prefer to buy more affordable items, that way I can get more out of my money. And personally, a lot of the times the cheaper things are actually cuter than the expensive stuff. Now, I wouldn't turn down those Philips Lim's of course, but I could be perfectly happy with the Keller pair, or the Sam Edelman's....or the Vince Camuto's...clearly I like them all. Which are your favorite?

I hope you guys enjoyed this feature, since I plan on doing it weekly. I don't know about you guys, but I find it more convenient when the comparison shopping is already done for me. Let me know what you guys think, and feel free to comment with any questions, thoughts, or if you have something you would like me to compare for you, whether it's a celebrity's outfit, a handbag, whatever.

The Space Between the Lines

My son is turning six next Friday (I know, when did I get to be so old?) and his grandparents gave him money for his present, so yesterday we went to his favorite place- Toys R' Us. It was like taking me to Bloomingdale's, handing me some money, and telling me to pick whatever I wanted. He ran from aisle to aisle and was talking to himself rationally ("Hmm, if I buy this, then I'll have less money for this" "this is cheaper, so I could get both of these"), too cute.

Then we went to Goodwill, which is conveniently located right in the same area. It's funny how sometimes you look online, in catalogs, out of town, etc. for those certain pieces you want, then you unexpectedly find them when you're not looking. Case in point: I've been dying for a kimono jacket (I have a vintage patchwork one on the way, but its a different style from what I have been hunting for) but everywhere I've been online (Spanish Moss Vintage for example) has been sold out. So imagine my surprise when I found a gorgeous teal one for $7. It's not exactly the style I was looking for, but at that price, who am I to argue? With that and other things I'm waiting to wear that are long sleeved, my excitement for Fall to come has tripled.

*IF YOU HAVEN'T ENTERED MY ERIN WASSON X LOW LUV GIVEAWAY YET, YOU STILL HAVE UNTIL AUGUST 31ST TO DO SO. DETAILS CAN BE FOUND HERE

Heavy Metal

Woke up to a dreary, somewhat breezy day. "Is fall here early?" I thought with excitement, already planning my fall wardrobe. NOPE. Mother Nature just likes to toy with me...it ended up being 99 degrees today, with a forecast of 105 on Wednesday.

So as it was, I was way too hot (ok, and lazy) to venture outside of my AC chilled house to shoot pics- hence the inside shots. Got this black pair of shoes at Marshall's recently, (yeah, not afraid to admit I shop there occasionally)and was stoked when I saw the price. They're Kelsi Dagger shoes and normally $160, but I got them for a mere $40, score one for me.

Notice how one of my dogs always manages to make a cameo? This time it's Peanut, my pocket sized pal who thinks he's a lot bigger than he is. My 5 yr. old son Austin keeps thinking his name is Weiners (Peanut = Penis = Weiners?)for whatever reason. Cute at home, not so cute at the park when he's shouting the name for all the world to hear.

I have a giveaway planned for tomorrow, so be sure to check back- my hint to you is this: AZTEC

*My twin sis Liana has started a fashion blog- be sure to stop by and show her some love!

American Gold FW10

Looking at these images, I realize I need to add some velvet to my closet for Fall. I couldn't download them to my computer, but there are more gorgeous images at their website American Gold.

I've opened my own blog shop (click on the icon in the upper right corner)so please check it out. Just stuff in my closet that's been sitting and needs a new home. I still have more items to add, and I will be updating on a (hopefully) regular basis as I rotate my items and bring in new ones. On that note, I'm dying for Fall because I just bought my first item to wear and I'm super excited about it. What is it? Well, you'll just have to wait and find out! Two words: vintage and Asian.

Oh, and I'm working on the details, but I should hopefully have a giveaway worked out for this week, so keep checking back.

Hear Me Roar

I have a deep love of leopard print and am forever on the prowl (no pun intended, haha) for the perfect leopard piece to add to my collection. And I think I may have found it. For now, anyways, until the next perfect piece comes along. This little number came from H&M and is purr-fect (ugh, I know! must be the heat!)in that it is long, sheer and versatile. All the things I look for- plus affordable. And even though it's 100% polyester, it's very silky and light, not the scratchy, hot polyester of the 70's and 80's.

I've also been on the lookout for a killer pair of leopard print shoes. And today I met that goal. Say hello to these babies. Don't have them yet, but mark my words, they will be mine.

I know, enough leopard print, right? Ha, I'm just getting started! No, but seriously that's all for the moment.

I leave you with this awww-inducing picture of Peanut with his newest buddy, Scooby-Doo. Makes you wanna melt, huh?

ps. did you all see Sadie in the corner of the pic? she wants to be a model haha
pss. For all those who asked to see, I finally took a pic where you can see more of the baby bump. It's because my arms are up that it looks small-trust me, if they were down, you'd be asking if I'd been killing some 6 packs over the years, lol :)
