She's an Online Sales & Marketing Assistant for a high-end women's boutique by profession, but judging by her photos, she's also an adventurous wanderer who makes any location the perfect photo spot, whether it be an abandoned warehouse, swamp or alleyway. Of course, it helps that she's assisted by her amazing photographer/boyfriend Ryan, who's always there to capture her perfectly.
Not only does she have awesome style, but she's very sweet and down to earth. She kindly agreed to this interview, so keep reading to learn more.
I first started blogging about two years ago. I suppose I was just looking for a creative outlet at the time.
FAVORITE EXPERIENCE(S) BLOGGING?
I've been lucky enough to have actually met and developed friendships with several bloggers who live in my area. Talk about the ultimate reward! Also, watching Ryan's photography and my personal style develop has been so much fun.
WHERE DO YOU SEE YOUR BLOG IN THE NEXT COUPLE OF YEARS?
Continually growing. I'd like to eventually have a life/job that allows me to spend more time blogging! Maybe blogging will become my job? A girl can dream, right?
STYLE ICON OR INFLUENCES:
Edie Sedgwick and Kate Moss. Forever and always!
FIVE WORDS TO DESCRIBE YOU:
Silly, resilient, empathetic, introverted, determined.
Sounds a lot like me! Okay, now lets move on to your favorite things:
FAVORITE MUSIC:
I'm all over the board with this one. I have an obscenely large iTunes library filled with everything from underground rap, to folk, to mainstream pop. If I had to pick a favorite group it would be Atmosphere. Listen to them!
FAVORITE DESIGNER:
Well, first things first, the current circumstances surrounding John Galliano are most unfortunate. Personal issues aside though, Dior's collections have always been among my favorites. I also have to confess a love for Balmain. Yeah, they turn out the same thing season after season, not to mention no one can afford it, but oh god it's fun.
FAVORITE COLOR AND MATERIAL/FABRIC:
I'm one of those boring people who favors neutrals. I'm obsessed with this season's cobalt blue trend though. If I wear it, well, that remains to be seen. As far as fabric I'm really into sheers right now. They're naughty in such a good way.
FAVORITE MAGAZINE:
I'll confess to not picking up magazines as often as I used to!
FAVORITE BLOG/WEBSITE:
The Cut is my favorite for fashion news. The writing is smart and funny. Others I check regularly: Fashiontoast, LoveMore, Fashion Trend Guide, Nasty Gal Blog, 5 Inch & Up.
FAVORITE PLACES TO SHOP:
I LOVE vintage/thrift shopping, I consider it a hobby actually. Nasty Gal, H&M, Forever 21 and DIANI Boutique are a few others.
Now for the random questions:
HIGH HEELS OR WEDGES? I'm a fan of the chunky heel. So I guess that means I fall somewhere in between those two.
NEW OR VINTAGE? My wardrobe is probably 70% new and 30% vintage. I love both!
STUDS OR SEQUINS? Sequins! At the moment.
BLACK OR WHITE? White. Black looks silly with my hair.
PARIS FASHION OR TOKYO FASHION? Paris, it's the gold standard.
IF YOU HAD YOUR OWN CLOTHING LINE, WHAT WOULD IT CONSIST OF?
I'm not much of a designer, but I'd love to own a vintage shop in the future.
YOUR BIOGRAPHY IS BEING MADE INTO A MOVIE, WHICH CELEBRITY WOULD PLAY YOUR ROLE?
People say I look like Zooey Deschanel pretty frequently, so I guess I don't have much a of a choice there.
YOU GET INVITED TO FASHION WEEK- WHAT DO YOU PACK?
Comfortable shoes. And Ryan.
HOW DO YOU PREPARE FOR YOUR OUTFIT PHOTOS? DO YOU PICK THE LOCATION, THEN BUILD THE OUTFIT AROUND IT, OR VICE VERSA?
The outfit comes first and then the location. Basically, the location is chosen to enhance/match the look.
WHAT THINGS DO YOU LOOK FOR IN A BLOG? WHAT DRIVES YOU AWAY?
Poor grammar is always a deal breaker. Spell check was invented for a reason! Blogs that really focus on the quality of their images and posts most appeal to me. I also gravitate to anyone who has a sense of humor! Blogging can come across as self-serving at times, being fun and down to earth negates that.
