Photo Tutorial: DSLR Cameras- The Basics

I've been trying to do this tutorial for a couple weeks now, but it kept getting away from me. I will be doing this tutorial in parts in order to keep the length down, so this post will just cover the basics. I'm also adding an ongoing photography tutorial feature to my blog, covering camera and photography tips, as well as editing techniques. Please keep in mind that I am not a professional, and everything I post here has come from many hours of research, practice and trial and error. I am simply passing on what I know and learn as I go, since I know many bloggers out there are looking to improve their photography. Of course, there are many resources out there to teach you photography skills, but my aim is to keep it in more simpler terms, since photography and the terminology can be overwhelming, especially for those with no prior experience.

Blogger Spotlight- Pandora's Box

One of my favorite things I love about blogging is getting to know and interact with other bloggers. Living as I do in a small town where fashion is unheard of, it's nice to meet others who share the same tastes/interests as me. One of my favorite bloggers is 23 year old NY born, SoCal resident named Sarah, owner of the blog Pandora's Box. What drew me to her was that although she has jet black tresses and is inked up with various tattoos, she's not your typical black-haired-tattooed badass, meaning that while she can rock leather like nobody's business, she looks just as amazing in soft neutrals and silky fabrics. She says her style is "edgy bohemian" and is constantly evolving- which I agree. One minute she may be in ripped cutoff denim and thigh highs, the next an aztec print body concious dress with a fur jacket . . . and both look stunning, considering she has legs that appear to go on for miles, even though she's actually only 5'3"! (hey she has me beat by 3")

I'm back from my anniversary/birthday getaway in Reno. Didn't get rich gambling like I hoped, and although we scoured three or four antique shops as planned, I left with nothing. I was so overwhelmed with the amount of stuff I liked that I couldn't decide so I didn't buy anything, which of course I'm kicking myself for now. Oh well, maybe I'll get shoes instead.
