Warm and Fuzzy

Kohl aka Kohl Kovet Omega (his stage name) aka "Dork"

Today was the first real warm day we've had...I think Spring may finally be here. Today I went casual; both my top and pants were slinky cotton, so it felt like wearing pj's all day, great for a Monday. The fur is actually from a vintage sweater I got awhile back. I couldn't get the stale perfume smell out of the sweater, but then I realized the fur unbuttoned from the sweater, so I wore it as a neckpiece, which was great since I hate to waste things! I was going to wear strappy heels instead of boots, but I've neglected my feet all winter, so yeah...no one wants to see those feet of mine.

I'm up to 32 followers so far, not bad considering I've only done this for about a month. Only 3 more to go and I'll be able to complete my first giveaway, so keep checking back. I'm pretty satisfied with how my blog has been coming along, and I appreciate all my reader's comments and feedback. If there's something you want to see on here, let me know! I have many projects I hope to work on in the coming year, such as tutorials, DIY projects, etc...if I can find the time :)

The Real McQueen

There has been so much publicity about Alexander McQueen's death and the impact it has on the fashion world... but there is still the fact that he was a real person too. I recently read an article here that I thought was worth sharing:

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1250830

It was actually an intense article to me and an revealing look at what it's like in the spotlight.

formspring.me

did you draw the "bloglovin" print. I like it.

haha, no, i wish i did though! i actually probably will draw my own icons in the future though, so they're more unique. thanks for the question :)

Oh Cupid... You'll Shoot Your Eye Out

So for those who are not bitter at the thought of a holiday wherein lovers pronounce their affections with gifts of flowers and sweet confections, how is everyone's playing out so far? Fabulous, I hope. As for mine, my failure to plan any romantic festivities was due to my hectic work schedule and my laziness to be creative and romantic. So to make the best of things, we decided last minute to drive to a casino (us Asians love those slots....but Mike's not Asian) and try our hand there. Hey, if we couldn't be romantic, maybe we could leave rich. But I dream. We forgot the fact that I no longer have a drivers license as a form of ID (I could go into a big spiel about how I had it revoked under mysterious circumstances; however, the truth is I lost it...I know, boring, right?) so I was forced to carry my birth certificate, Social Security card, and Sam's Club (like a Costco card) with my picture on it as proof of my identity. Turns out, we didn't need any of it since we sneaked in a back entrance. After driving over an hour, we decided we didn't want to have to drive back later, so as luck would have it, the previously sold out hotel had a cancellation three minutes before our arrival, so we snagged it. Surprisingly, the room was bigger and more appealing than some of the grand hotels in Reno or Vegas. Not too shabby. However, the casino was disappointing. No matter how much money we played, none of the machines wanted to fork over any winnings. Stingy bastards. But it was all in good fun. Woke up this morning and had the breakfast buffet which consisted of (my plate) Eggs Benedict, sausage, bacon, green beans, one egg rolls, a biscuit, and finished off with ice cream. I'm sure mothers everywhere are cringing at the thought.

Anyhow, this post is going on too long. Sorry I've been MIA in the fashion department lately; blame my 5 am schedule which required me to wake at 3:30...try to be fashionable then and dress in the dark. Not happening. But tomorrow's a new day and with it will come new photos!

I want to hear how everyone else's V day is going, so comment back. In the meantime, I'll leave you with my latest yearnings from Seychelles. Ready for Spring! Oh, and Im still looking for the perfect pair of oxfords, so if you spot some, send me the link!

Tree of Hearts

Just wanted to share with you some photos which give you an idea of how creative my mother in law Cindy is....this is her Valentines Day tree. Isn't it awesome? I think it's such a cool idea. She's going to decorate it with eggs for Easter too. I mean, who says you can only have a tree at Christmas?

And Death Claimed Him

Alexander McQueen

It has recently been confirmed that Alexander McQueen "the bad boy of fashion", has passed away earlier this Tuesday. Reports did not confirm how he died, but rumor has it pegged as suicide, as there was no foul play suspected. His mother recently passed away on February 2nd, leaving him distraught and agonizing at his loss, but it seemed he would pull through. As one of my favorite designers, this comes as a great shock to me. He was the most innovative and radical of designers, who one minute could make you cringe in disgust (such as one previous runway show where the models wore headpieces made of trash) while another make your jaw drop at his exquisite designs. Not one to flaunt his talent, he shied away from the spotlight, while at the same time managing to own it. This is truly an unforeseen tragedy in which the fashion world has suffered a profound loss. RIP McQueen, you were the creator and designer of this generation and may you find peace with your mother in Heaven.
