EWWITSNIKKI'S DRESS ME UP CONTEST

Was feeling kinda down recently, so Mike and I hopped in the car and headed down to Santa Rosa to visit my sister, where she and I did what we do best in each others company- eat and shop. She took me to this consignment store where I bought this sheer black dress I'm wearing, for all of $10, along with a great top and a pair of some awesome fall boots. It's a wonder why I bother even bother shopping anywhere else but thrift stores. This dress is now currently one of my favorite items to wear at the moment (although I need to shorten it). I said the same thing about the leopard print blouse I got from H&M too. And I'm sure I'll say it with the next thing I buy. I'm fickle like that.

This dress is also my entry for Nikki's "Dress Me Up" Contest, sponsored by Conversation Pieces. Be sure to check out the contest on her blog! I chose this dress to represent me because while it is black (one of my fave colors) and somewhat Gothic feeling, the sheer chiffon material and Victorian sleeves give it a feminine, Lolita-esque vibe- and I feel this suits me because while I look innocent and sweet at times, I am also a hellcat. I chose to pair it with my cross necklace and my blue boots for a pop of color, thus adding to the edginess of the ensemble. I hope you guys will check out the contest as well- winner gets a dress of her choice!
